Traditional – Stainless Steel Braces

We offer a variety of braces. Traditional braces are made of stainless steel and are attached to the cheek side of the patient's teeth. There may or may not be colored elastic surrounding them. Braces have been designed to allow the orthodontist to move a patient's teeth in a three dimensional manner.

Porcelain – Clear

If you want to have straighter teeth but are scared at the thought of wearing traditional metal braces, clear braces could be the solution you have been looking for. These nearly invisible braces are made up of porcelain and attach to the cheek side of the patient's teeth. Porcelain braces are made to move teeth 3 dimensionally, while providing a regular looking smile.

Self Ligating Braces

Self ligating braces are braces that do not need any ties or small rubber bands to hold the wires in place. These braces are great for helping patients achieve a healthy, beautiful smile with ease.

Benefits of self ligating braces include:

  • Shorter appointments
  • Reduced treatment time
  • Fewer adjustments and less appointments
  • Improved facial proportion and appearance
  • Greater comfort

There is no dispute about the fact that in the last decade Invisalign® has become one of the most important developments in dentistry, and one that thousands of patients have taken advantage of.

Invisalign® is a system that straightens teeth without the use of traditional braces. A series of clear plastic aligners are utilized to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners is not new. It is the computer program that generates a series of aligners with small changes that is new.

Dr. Batastini is certified by the Invisalign® company to offer patients with this convenient teeth straightening system. Invisalign® is recommended for most orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. The aligners are virtually undetectable, easy to use, and comfortable to wear.

Rapid Palatal Expansion (RPE)

Palatal expansion with a fixed orthodontic device is used to widen the upper arch and to obtain room for tooth alignment. The RPE is manually adjusted with a specialized orthodontic tool as needed.

Orthodontic Headgear

Orthodontic headgear is a very important part in helping some patient's achieve the best results from their braces. The headgear is used as a special force to guide the growth of the patient's face and jaws. It is also used to improve the position of teeth and/or help prevent teeth from moving in an adverse manner. For proper results, headgear should be worn on a regular basis. If it is not worn properly, treatment time may be extended and Dr. Batasntini may need to alter your treatment plan.

Things to remember when it comes to headgear:

  • Always be careful to remove your headgear properly. If removed carelessly, your headgear could injure your lips, cheeks, face, or eyes.
  • Do not try to lift your orthodontic headgear over your face.
  • Do not wear your headgear while running or playing sports.
  • Never try to take off your headgear until the straps have been disconnected.
  • Do not allow anyone to grab or pull at your headgear.

While we understand that wearing orthodontic headgear may not be very much fun, when it is recommended in your treatment plan, you will need to wear it to get the results you are looking for. If you follow the headgear instruction exactly, you will complete your headgear treatment plan faster. This small sacrifice will be worth it in the end.

Spring Aligners

Spring aligners are used when patients need an anterior correction through minor rotation and resetting of the teeth. Depending on the patient and how much rotation they need, Dr. Batastini will choose the correct spring aligners to direct the movement. Also, spring aligners can be used for preventative maintenance, by moving back drifted teeth to their original finish.
